The Chief Justice of the Gujarat High Court, Shri Hon’ble Justice R. Subhash Reddy, officially opened the District Court of Botad in the secretariat building on October 21, 2018. Hon. Shri Vijaybhai Rupani, the Gujarat Chief Minister, was the honorary guest, while Hon. Shri Pradeepsinh Jadeja, the Gujarat Minister of Law & Justice, graced the occasion.
Since its inception, the District Court of Botad has played a vital role in delivering justice and resolving legal disputes within the region. About Botad District
In the Indian state of Gujarat, the Saurashtra area contains the district of Botad. On August 15, 2013, the northwestern portion of Bhavnagar District and the southwest portion of Ahmedabad District were combined to form it. Botad, Gadhada, Barvala, and Ranpur are the four talukas that make up Botad. The district’s administrative center, Botad, is located at 92 kilometers from Bhavnagar, 133 kilometers from Ahmedabad, and 176 kilometers from Gandhinagar, the state capital.

On September 23, 2012, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi declared the establishment of the Botad district as a component of the Swami Vivekananda Vikas Yatra.Two talukas, one from each of the districts of Ahmedabad and Bhavnagar, were divided to form the Botad district.This new Botad district included the talukas of Barwala and Ranpur in Ahmedabad district and Gadhda and Botad in Bhavnagar district.
Botad district has three municipalities and is administratively separated into two provinces and four talukas.
According to the 2011 census, Botad District has a population of 6.52 lakh and an area of 2564 sq km.
At the intersection of Gohilwad (toward Bhavnagar), Jhalawad (toward Limbdi and Surendranagar), and Panchal (toward Paliyad, Vinchiya, and Jasdan), the town serves as a gateway to Kathiawad (toward Gadhada, Lathi, and Amreli).
The Botad district in Ranpur taluka is bordered to the north by the Sukhbhadar River. The southern portion of the Botad district in the Gadhada taluka is where the Kalubhar River runs. The district is located between latitudes 71E and 22N and longitudes 42E and 10N. The district’s other principal rivers include the Kalubhar, Sukhbhadar, Ghelo, Utavali, and Goma.
The demographics
According to the 2011 census, there were 656,005 people living in the district, which had a population density of 255 people per square kilometer and an area of 2,564 square kilometers (990 sq mi). Of them, 209,542 (31.94%) were urban dwellers. There were 945 females for every 1000 males in Botad. 43,270 (6.60%) and 1,298 (0.20%) of the population are members of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, respectively. With 99.66% of the population speaking Gujarati, it is the most common language.
Notable people
Mohammad Mankad was a poet, writer, social reformer, and freedom warrior; Damodar Botadkar was a well-known poet of the 20th century; and Jhaverchand Meghani was a Gujarati writer and freedom fighter to whom Mahatma Gandhi bestowed the title of Raashtreeya Shaayar (National Poet).

Rail Transportation
Botad Junction railway station, which is a part of the Western Railway zone, is the city’s own train station. It links Botad to a number of significant Gujarati and other state cities. From Botad, trains travel to places like Rajkot, Ahmedabad, and Surat.
